Medical Announcement
Tami Madigan, the grand-daughter of Roy Murphy and duaghter of Kurt Murphy and niece of Sharon, Tandy and Kaleen, was
recently diagnosed with stage 2B breast cancer. Tami was originally scheduled to have mastectomy surgery on June 19th, but
her doctors decided to start her chemotherapy to try to stop the cancer from spreading after the diagnosis was changed to
stage 3A breast cancer. Tami started chemotherapy on Monday, June 15th and her surgery has been postponed until later this
summer. She will have chemotherapy every two weeks.
This month Tami was dealt another setback when the income level was raised for state sponsored health insurance. This
change forced Tami to leave her job so that she could maintain her health insurance to pay for the surgery and recovery period.
Tami is a single mother of 3 sons, ages 16, 10 and 9.
Her community has set up a website to assist her in her recovery.
